The Global Talent Show is a signature, annual Illinois Homecoming Week event that celebrates creativity, culture and community through a vibrant showcase of international music, dance, spoken word and artistic talent, inspired by each year’s Illinois Homecoming theme.

Featuring performers from across the Illinois community, the Global Talent Show offers an evening of dynamic performances that blend cultural traditions and creative expressions from around the world. Students, scholars, faculty, staff, family members and local community members come together to celebrate diversity, build connections, and experience the international spirit that enriches life at Illinois.

Whether performing or attending, you’ll enjoy an evening filled with remarkable talents and witness what makes Illinois a truly global community!

Upcoming Global Talent Show

The theme for 2026 Global Talent Show is “Around the World, Always Illini.” It celebrates the talents, stories and connections that unite Illini from every corner of the world.

  • Time: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: Foellinger Auditorium
  • Admission: Free and open to the public. All are welcome!

Who Can Perform

We invite performance applications from:

  • Students
  • Student Organizations
  • Faculty and Staff
  • Family Members and Dependents
  • Alumni
  • University-affiliated Community Groups

Both solo and group performances are encouraged, and participants of all experience levels are welcome.

Award Categories

Three prizes are awarded each year to recognize outstanding performances. These awards highlight the artistry that makes this event truly memorable.

  • Best Overall Performance: Awarded to the most exceptional performance of the evening.
  • Audience Favorite: Chosen by audience vote to recognize the performance that captured hearts and inspired the crowd.
  • Best Cultural Expression: Honoring the performance that most effectively showcases and celebrates cultural heritage, traditions, or global stories.
